DML Morning Briefing Nov. 2: The final push favors Trump as “Fire Fauci” is the new chant.
By Team DML
Today is November 2 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch.
1 – Trump denies he will prematurely declare victory, signals election legal challenges
President Trump on Sunday denied that he would declare premature victory in the election but signaled that Republicans would mount legal challenges to prevent ballots from being counted after Election Day.
“I think it’s a terrible thing when ballots can be collected after an election. I think it’s a terrible thing when people or states are allowed to tabulate ballots for a long period of time after the election is over because it can only lead to one thing,” Trump told reporters in Charlotte, N.C., criticizing decisions by the Supreme Court to allow ballots to be received after Election Day in several battleground states.
“I think there is great danger to it, and I think a lot of fraud and misuse can take place,” Trump continued, without providing specific evidence for his claim that extending deadlines for receiving ballots could result in fraud.
“We’re going to go in the night of — as soon as the election is over — we’re going in with our lawyers,” Trump said, mentioning the state of Pennsylvania specifically.
Nevada State Attorney General Aaron Ford responded by tweeting, “We’re ready.”
Pennsylvania State Attorney General Josh Shapiro also responded: “FACT CHECK: Our elections are over when all the votes are counted. But if your lawyers want to try us, we’d be happy to defeat you in court one more time.”
DML: Trump is correct. There should be no “extra innings” in this contest. Either way, I think the enthusiasm for Trump is so great that there is no chance for a Biden win.
2 – Postal authorities to search Miami-area post offices after ballots found in mail pile up
After it was discovered that a post office in Florida’s largest county was inundated with a mail backlog that contained numerous undelivered ballots, authorities are planning to search other locations.
The U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General is planning to visit multiple other stations in Miami-Dade County after 48 ballots were found at the Princeton Post Office location, the Miami Herald reported on Sunday.
The Miami Herald reported that 24 of the ballots were delivered to voters on Saturday, while others belonged to people who had voted in person or with replacement ballots. An additional six had been filled out and brought to election stations.
The backlog was thrown into the public spotlight after the Minority Leader of the Florida House of Representatives, Kionne Mcghee, posted undated footage to his Twitter account on Friday that showed USPS Inspection Service officials arriving at a Florida Post Office location in Miami-Dade County to look into the situation.
DML: The mail-in ballot fiasco will send the stock market in a free fall.
3 – Democrat nominee Joe Biden doubled down on his calls to ban “assault weapons” and “high capacity” magazines and to institute other gun controls on the final Sunday of his 2020 presidential campaign.
Biden’s campaign wrote on his official Twitter account: “As president, I’ll ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, implement universal background checks, and enact other common-sense reforms to end our gun violence epidemic.”
Breitbart News reported that Biden’s proposals not only contain a ban on the future manufacture of AR-15s and other firearms the Democrats label “assault weapons” but also a provision that could require every AR-15 rifle to be registered under the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA). Unless there was some form of carve-out, this could mandate that American gun owners pay a $200 federal tax for each AR-15 that they own.
The National Rifle Association’s Andrew Arulanandam told Breitbart News that the current “low end” estimate of privately-owned AR-15s in the United States is 18 million. A tax of $200 on 18 million AR-15s means that gun owners could potentially be required to pay a collective $3.6 billion in taxes if this policy were enacted into legislation.
Another provision could require Americans to sell back their so-called “high-capacity magazines” to the government or be registered under the NFA. The latter, unless there was some form of carve-out, could mandate that American gun owners pay a $200 federal tax for every high-capacity magazine they currently own.
DML: The 2A is non negotiable for most Americans. So, my fear is Joe’s plan ain’t happening without an all out civil war. Things will get mighty bad if this man is president.
4 – Kamala Harris Promotes Socialism Two Days Ahead of Election
Breitbart reports: Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) made a final pitch for socialist ideology two days before the presidential election, posting a video explaining the difference between “equality” and “equity” and concluding that “equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place.”
“So there’s a big difference between equality and equity,” Harris said in a video posted to her Twitter account on Sunday. The video featured an illustration of two individuals about to climb a mountain. Each was given two ropes, which a white man used to begin climbing. The other man, who appeared to be black, was unable to reach the rope, as he stood several feet lower than the other man.
“Equality suggests ‘Oh everyone should get the same amount.’ The problem with that, not everybody’s starting out from the same place. So if we’re all getting the same amount, but you started out back there and I started out over here — we could get the same amount, but you’re still going to be that far back behind me,” the narration continued.
“It’s about giving people the resources and the support they need so that everyone can be on equal footing and then compete on equal footing,” she continued as the video showed the fruitful ground rising the man up to the original level of the white man, where he then grabbed the rope and climbed up to the peak.
“Equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place,” she concluded:
DML: Sorry babe, but all people are not equal in their ability to get to the top of the mountain.
5 – Lady Gaga to campaign for Biden, mocked for trying to appeal to ‘rednecks’ in endorsement video
Lady Gaga tried to drum up support with battleground-state voters for Democratic nominee Joe Biden in a bizarre, new endorsement video — but was mocked on Twitter for trying to look like a “redneck.”
“Hey, this is Lady Gaga. I’m voting for America, which means I’m voting for Joe Biden,” said the camouflage-clad pop star as she leaned against a pickup truck in a video posted Saturday to Twitter. “And if you live in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Florida, or Arizona, I encourage you to vote.”
The born-and-bred New Yorker then took one sip of beer, tried to crush the can before tossing it on the ground saying, “Cheers to the 2020 election.”
The singer is scheduled to join Biden at a drive-in rally in Pittsburgh on Monday.
President Trump pounced on the news that Lady Gaga will be campaigning with Biden. He tweeted Sunday night: “Just learned that Sleepy Joe Biden is campaigning in Pennsylvania with Lady Gaga, a proud member of “Artists Against Fracking.” This is more proof that he would ban Fracking and skyrocket your energy prices. As I said at the debate – “Will you remember that Texas? Pennsylvania? Ohio? New Mexico?” I will always protect American Energy and American Jobs! Get out and VOTE #MAGA!”
DML: That has got to be the single worst video in American history. Aside from the phony redneck routine, the only message that comes out loud and clear is that Lady Gaga is a tramp.
6 – A new chant broke out at a Trump rally Sunday night: “Fire Fauci!”
At President Trump’s final rally of the day late Sunday night, in Miami-Dade County, Florida, President Trump mocked the news media for talking about COVID-19 all the time.
He said “after November 4th you won’t hear too much about it.” The crowd started chanting, “Fire Fauci, Fire Fauci!”
DML: This is the single best video in American history. Fire that asshole!
7 – Sean Parnell, the Republican congressional candidate for Pennsylvania’s 17th District, said Sunday that his house has been vandalized just two days before Election Day.
“My house was vandalized last night by cowards under the cover of darkness,” Parnell wrote on Twitter. “This is what is at stake in this election. We all must fight for our country and we must do it NOW. I will not cower. I will not back down. I will always fight for this nation.”
A photo shared by Parnell shows his garage door spray-painted with the message “Elections No Revolutions Yes!” as well as an image of a hammer and sickle, a symbol associated with communism.
“Regardless of political party, those that choose to run for office do so because they believe they can help the country. It is perfectly reasonable to disagree with each other and with political candidates, but the way to do that is at the voting booth,” Parnell said in a statement issued Sunday. “I believe that we are at an important point in our great nation’s history and I most assuredly stand against socialism, violence, and destruction.”
DML: Like I said above, I fear civil war hinges on this election either way.
