DML Morning Briefing Fri. Nov. 20: The ‘squad’, Sidney Powell, and more…
By Team DML
Today is November 20 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch.
1 – Growing ‘Squad’ holds rally to put pressure on Biden: “You owe us”
Fox News: Congressman-elect Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., indicated on Thursday that President-elect Joe Biden owed Black and Brown people after they helped elect him. His comments came during a rally outside the Democratic National Committee in Washington, D.C., where speakers like Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., pushed for a Green New Deal.
“Joe Biden has pledged a $2 trillion investment in environmental justice and 40% of that has been pledged to districts like mine across the country,” Bowman said.
Biden pledged $2 trillion for climate investments. It includes a provision for “disadvantaged communities” to receive 40% of “overall benefits of spending” in various areas.
“That 40% has to be part of a ‘Green New Deal’ that rebuilds Black and Brown communities across this country … we need jobs, we need infrastructure, and we need those jobs to go to Black and Brown communities,” said Bowman. “Black and Brown communities organized across the country to make sure Joe Biden won the White House, and he did that, but now it’s time for payback. And now it’s time to make sure that we invest the resources necessary to rebuild our nation in a way that is representative of all of us, so we can truly have the people’s house.”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. blasted moderate Democrats who might “poison the ability for us to have progress.”
BLM activist Cori Bush from Missouri, newly elected in to U.S. Congress, declared, “Black and brown communities showed up … and made sure that people were out showing up to vote. So we’re asking you to show up for us.”
DML: Now the Squad is demanding pay-back from Biden.
2 – Key moment from Trump legal team’s press briefing
(CNSNews.com) – Trump attorney Sidney Powell, who is part of the legal team investigating allegations of voter fraud, laid out what she called “the most unpatriotic acts I can even imagine” involving the Dominion voting system.
“This is stunning, heartbreaking, Infuriating and the most unpatriotic acts I can even imagine for people in this country to have participated in, in any way, shape or form, and I want the American public to know right now that we will not be intimidated. American patriots are fed up with the corruption from the local level to the highest level of our government, and we are going to take this country back,” she said.
“We are not going to be intimidated. We are not going to back down. We are going to clean this mess up now. President Trump won by a landslide. We are going to prove it, and we are going to reclaim the United States of America for the people who vote for freedom,” Powell said.
DML: This woman is fighting for America’s future… and the Squad are trying to pull the country in the other direction.
3 – BREAKING NEWS: Sen. Rick Scott tests positive for coronavirus
Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) just announced on Twitter Friday morning that he has contracted coronavirus.
“After several negative tests, I learned I was positive for COVID-19 this AM. I’m feeling good & experiencing very mild symptoms. I’ll be working from home until it’s safe for me to return to DC. I remind everyone to be careful & do the right things to protect yourselves & others,” he wrote.
DML: Get well soon!
4 – Sixty BLM protesters file lawsuit against Chicago Police claiming they were subjected to ‘brutal and violent’ treatment during demonstrations over death of George Floyd
Daily Mail: At least 60 Chicago protesters have filed a lawsuit against Chicago Police claiming they were brutally attacked and falsely arrested during demonstrations over the death of unarmed black man George Floyd.
The 205-page lawsuit, which was filed in federal court on Thursday, alleges that officers responded to lawful demonstrations ‘with brutal, violent, and unconstitutional tactics that were clearly intended to injure, silence, and intimidate Plaintiffs and other protesters.’
The suit lists the city of Chicago, Police Superintendent David Brown, and dozens of named and unnamed officers as defendants.
The protesters allege police tackled them, beat them with batons, trapped them in enclosed areas, and used chemical agents against them.
The lawsuit furthers says officers also destroyed or confiscated protesters’ belongings including glasses, cameras and backpacks.
DML: Unbelievable. Just can’t make this stuff up!
5 – Berkeley Prof Compares Trump Supporters to Germans Under Nazi Rule
Free Beacon: A visiting professor at the University of California Berkeley compared President Donald Trump’s supporters to Germans who turned a blind eye to the Holocaust.
Joyce Carol Oates, an author and English professor, said Trump’s supporters treat the coronavirus pandemic with “indifference,” much like Germans who submitted to Nazi rule, in a tweet on Thursday.
“[F]or many pro-T***p Americans, the pandemic is like the Holocaust to many Germans: they knew what was happening but adjusted to living with it in indifference or, in some cases, profiting from it,” Oates tweeted. “[O]nly if affected personally do people seem to care.”

6 – Pfizer to request emergency FDA approval for its COVID-19 vaccine
NY Post: Pfizer and BioNTech said they will ask the feds for emergency approval of their experimental coronavirus vaccine on Friday, a key step that could make the shot available next month.
The Manhattan-based drugmaker and the German biotech firm will be the first to seek a so-called emergency use authorization in the US for their COVID-19 inoculation, which was 95 percent effective and posed no serious safety concerns in a major clinical trial.
The vaccine could be distributed to “high-risk populations” in the US by mid- to late December if the Food and Drug Administration approves the request, the companies said in a news release.
“Filing in the US represents a critical milestone in our journey to deliver a COVID-19 vaccine to the world and we now have a more complete picture of both the efficacy and safety profile of our vaccine, giving us confidence in its potential,” Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said in a statement
DML: WHAT IF this had been announced BEFORE the election?
